Donaldson Music Group traces its roots back to 2014 in the Free State province of South Africa.
The company was originally established as Donaldson Publishing Company by Kenny “Prof” Donaldson. At the time, the business focused primarily on music publishing, rights registration, and sync licensing for advertising and assignment-based projects.
For nearly a decade, the company operated within the publishing and commercial music space, specialising in structured rights management and advertising placements.
In 2023, ownership of the company was officially transferred to Emily Maseko and Mashaa Ramokgopa. Under new leadership, the company was restructured and rebranded as Donaldson Music Group.
This marked a significant transition, expanding from a publishing-focused entity into a broader record label and music services company.
Today, Donaldson Music Group operates across multiple areas of the music industry.
